Collection temperatures on this lyophilizer can get as low as -50°C (-58°F) through a 1/3 horsepower refrigeration systems. The upright stainless steel collector coils on top remove a maximum of 2 liters of water within 24 hours and can hold up to 2.5 liters of ice before needing to be defrosted.

The Labconco FreeZone Plus 2.5 Liter Benchtop Freeze Dry System is controlled through an LCD screen for quick set up and adjusting the operating parameters, as well as a total number of hours since the vacuum or refrigeration was last serviced. The alarms for this benchtop freeze dry system alerts users with both audible and visual alarms and can be set for events of power failure, collector temperature over -40°C, servicing the vacuum pump, and others.
