Interim Director
Holly earned her B.A. in Biology from Bowdoin College and her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, where she also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cartilage mechanobiology. She joined the Shared Materials Instrumentation Facility (SMIF) in 2016 and brings extensive expertise in imaging techniques, including electron, confocal, fluorescence, and atomic force microscopy. Her work bridges engineering, biology, and medicine, advancing interdisciplinary research and innovation. In addition, she established a dynamic outreach program at SMIF that engages thousands of participants each year in exploring the excitement of nanoscale science through both virtual and hands-on experiences.
