STELLARIS 5 is a true confocal point scanning system with LIAchroic beam splitters. It includes a highly sensitive, prism-based spectral detection design with computer controlled adjustable bandwidth for all fluorescence channels. STELLARS 5 LIAchroic offers maximized detection efficiency for all commonly available fluorophores, up to five simultaneousely. It is an inverted research microscope with a touch screen based on the DMi8 series, and has a motorized 6x nosepiece, closed loop, cooling system and spill protection.
The LIGHTNING feature allows for optimal extraction of image details and maximum resolution, thus expanding the imaging portfolio both in the classical range and beyond the diffraction limit.
It is equipped with a Power HyD S detector, which is Leica's new standard for detection. it is an all-around detector, with high performance throughout the spectrum, and two times the increased photon detection efficiency in the blue-green range compared to standard multialkaline photomultiplier detectors.
