Cryo TEM
Nilakshee is the CryoEM Manager for the cryo-electron microscopy facility housed within SMIF. She serves as the primary contact for the Thermo Fisher Krios G2i 300 keV and the 100 keV cryo-TEM instruments.
She holds a M.S. in Molecular Biology from Colorado State University and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Florida State University.
With over fifteen years of experience in the field of cryo-electron microscopy, Nilakshee’s expertise spans vitrified sample preparation, data collection, and data processing. Her research interests and technical strengths lie in single-particle analysis and tomography.
Nilakshee joined SMIF in 2020 and currently leads the cryoEM team, overseeing facility operations, training, and project development.
