The IB-29500VED Thermal Vacuum Evaporator is designed to easily perform various kinds of evaporation, for example in preparing specimens for electron microscopes or other similar instruments. It can be used for evaporation of carbon thin films, suited for high resolution imaging, or the evaporation of other (user supplied) materials. Common uses are for depositing thin conductive layers on nonconductive materials, as well as various heat treatments requiring high vacuum.

- Carbon thin-film evaporation (carbon source material provided by SMIF)
- Contact SMIF to request other materials (other materials are user supplied)
